The Brahma Gana Sabha commenced its December Art Festival for 2007 on the 3rd of December with a glittering Award ceremony at Smt.Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium, Chennai. Stalwarts such as Shri M.Ct.P.Chidambaram, Dr.M.A.M.Ramaswamy, Shri. Nalli Chettiar and Shri A.Natarajan were present on the dais to honour and felicitate the deserving artistes - Sudha Ragunathan (Gaana Padmam), Kumari Kamala (Naatya Padmam) and Kathadi S. Ramamurthy (Naataka Padmam).
Dr. Ramaswamy stressed on the need for promoting Tamil isai and budding artists and also announced a donation of Rs.1 lakh to the Sabha for fostering the same. Sudha, in an emotional speech, mentioned that she deemed it an honor to have been chosen for the Award and that too, receiving it at such an august gathering. Shri.A.Natarajan gave a befitting felicitation to the artistes and the ceremony ended with mutual appreciation and admiration amongst the recipients, all veterans in their respective fields.
